  • Can a Hormone Imbalances Cause Hair Loss?

    Tuesday, 22 September 2020 00:00

Hormone imbalances are one of the main factors that contribute to hair loss in both men and women. Changes in hormone levels can cause hair follicles to begin producing weaker strands of hair and, if not addressed, to stop producing hair altogether.

  • When people start to notice thinning hair or hair loss, it affects how they perceive themselves, as well as how others perceive them. What people often fail to recognize is that many factors, beyond genetics and age, contribute to hair loss, including daily grooming habits. While determining the precise cause of hair loss can be complicated, eliminating contributing factors can slow or even stop the process.

  • Hair dying is a simple way of creating an entirely new look for yourself. Many older adults dye their hair to hide telltale signs of aging, such as gray hair, while others change their hair color to make a statement or because they find the color more attractive than their natural hair color. Whatever the reason for choosing to dye your hair, there is always a concern for whether the process will damage your scalp and hair and lead to thinning hair or hair loss.

  • Antioxidants and Healthy Hair

As we age, our bodies endure subtle changes. While we may feel some effects of aging, there are many changes on a cellular level that are not readily seen. Many of the most apparent signs of aging are noticed in the skin and hair. As people age, they gradually begin to notice changes such as wrinkles and dark spots and scalp and hair issues, including thinning hair or hair loss. Many of these unwanted signs of aging happen because of a decrease in natural antioxidants in our bodies.

  • Thinning hair and hair loss is a concern for many people. It is considered normal for the average person to lose between 50 and 100 hairs every day. We find these loose strands on our pillow in the morning, in the drain when we wash our hair, and on our brush or comb when we style our hair.

  • Thinning hair and hair loss is a common issue that affects most men and women as they age. Many factors, such as genetics, diet, environment, hormonal changes, medical conditions, and medications, can cause and contribute to hair loss. Some shedding of hair is normal, with the average person losing 50 to 100 hairs each day. This shedding is typically not noticeable as new hair growth usually replaces this loss.
