Laser Therapy For Hair Growth - How It Works

If you're experiencing hair loss, know that you aren't alone. Most Americans will face some type of hair loss in their lifetime. The good news is, there are options out there to help you. New Image Hair Clinic offers a variety of hair loss treatments for both men and women.

What Causes Hair Loss?

On average, you lose between 50 and 100 hairs from your head every day. When more hair starts to fall out, or your hairline recedes, there's probably an underlying medical reason. These are the most common reasons for hair loss in both men and women.

  • Side effects of medication
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Genetics
  • Stress

Whatever the reason for your hair thinning, the sooner you seek a solution, the more likely you will see positive results.

The solutions for mitigating hair loss are dependent on the underlying cause. We would recommend one course of therapy for a genetic predisposition to a receding hairline or thinning hair, and something completely different for hair loss that's the result of an illness, or a course of medication. At New Image Hair Clinic, we understand that treating hair loss is not a one-size-fits-all remedy, and we have state-of- the-art hair restoration solutions that range from human-hair wigs to topical treatments.

Fortunately, there are treatments that are non-invasive and effective in dealing with thinning hair, but the sooner you begin a treatment regimen the better your chances for good results. Laser therapy is not a new technique, but one that has seen marked improvements in effectiveness recently.

What Is Laser Therapy For Hair Growth?

We're all familiar with lasers for hair removal, but low-level laser therapy applied to the scalp actually encourages hair to grow. It's most effective when it's used in conjunction with a topical treatment.

At New Image Hair Clinic, we determine the laser treatment that is right for you, based on your medical history and your hair growth goals. We have low-level laser therapy (LLLT) machines, a Theradome laser helmet, or a HairMax laser comb for your individual treatment plan. All of our lasers are FDA cleared for safety.

Theradome Laser Helmets have 80 laser beams per helmet. The beams go deep in scalp penetration, down to a 5mm follicle depth, for maximum energy absorption. Since the helmet covers your entire head, all the thinning spots are covered.

The HairMax comb implements a process called Photo-Biostimulation--like photosynthesis for your head. It infuses your scalp with nourishing, visible light that extends the anagen, or growth phase, that begins a new cycle of hair growth and produces more density and fullness. And yes, it's a comb that our estheticians run through your hair during treatments, so you get a bit of a nice scalp massage, too.

Benefits of Laser Hair Therapy

Unlike other hair restoration and rejuvenation treatments that involve surgeries or synthetics, laser growth treatments have four main advantages.

  • Noninvasive
  • Painless
  • No side effects
  • Stronger hair

Topical Companions

Laser hair growth treatments are most effective when you combine them with a topical treatment, which will thicken and possibly regrow hair on its own. Minoxidil is a topical solution that we use at New Image Hair Clinic; it is an FDA-approved treatment that is minimally invasive.

New Image Hair Clinic is Pennsylvania's premier hair rejuvenation clinic--we have been evolving with restoration technology since 1969.
